Matt was blessed with some great success in his first area.  With a focus on activating less-active members - they found many non-members to teach and baptize.
Matt is practicing his preaching in a kilt.  What do you wear under one of those?
Matt's first area was Inverness
where the famed Lochness is found.  Following tradition Matt drinks from the lake -can you say Giardia?

This page was sent to us from President & Sister Griffiths
Matt had a chance to climb to the top of Arthur's Seat -
just as Elder Orson Pratt did
to dedicate himself to the country of Scotland as a missionary.

Matt's MTC Experience Comes to a Close

This is the MTC Group in front of the Preston Temple

Matt has enjoyed his time at the MTC.  He was called as District Leader over the Ammon District and has been serving there since his arrival.  His companion is Elder Woolsey from Weber Utah.  They have been able to go to the train station and contact people as well as tract a little in the area.  He has loved being in England and is excited to be leaving for Scotland on May 26th at 7:30 AM

Elder Martin has arrived at the Preston England MTC

We have not yet heard from Matt, but we got the standard group email telling us that he was safely in the Preston MTC.

We are anxious to hear about his trip en-route, he was certainly excited when last we saw him.

At the airport he was not content to wait with all the other missionaries until the last moment, instead he gave us a farewell hug and headed through security.  Last we saw he was chatting up some guy he met in the security line and seemed to be focused on getting on his way.

Good luck, Matt, we love you!

p.s. will you be home on Saturday to mow the lawn?
